CEO Interview
What do you think of the anti-cholesterol market
in the future?
- Cholesterol, obesity and diabetes, the three
major geriatric disease areas, are our target
areas. Especially, cholesterol is a main risk
factor to cause heart diseases.
The local and the world's anti-cholesterol markets
are growing: there are 39 million people in
the US and 120 million people in Europe that
have high-cholesterol problems.
What is the future strategy of Eugene
Science as a leading bio-venture company?
- Eugene Science¡¯s corporate vision is to advance
the era of pharmacogenomics (or nutragenomics),
a pioneering field of biotechnology, which is
the predictive and personalized treatment of
adult disease through individualized manipulation
of foods, medicines, food and genes, all made
possible by the combination of its database
on adult diseases with applied bioinformatics
technology.
Eugene Science plans to produce high-value biospecialty
chemicals in an environmentally friendly way
through joint research with MicroGenomics of
the US and its own developments.
In addition, Eugene Science possesses technology
to make vitamin E(or tocopherol) from the process
of extracting CZ¢â and its by products.
Protein chips, a key technology to detect cancer
materials in blood, are under development. |
